Mining Engineering Student Society
About
The Mining Engineering Student Society enhances the student experience by organizing social events, platforms for academic assistance, and offering professional development programs. Despite being a smaller engineering discipline, a strong camaraderie between students spanning all years becomes a natural perk. Social functions such as sponsored BBQs, keggers, mixers, and highly competitive foosball tournaments ensure graduates are well-equipped with a network of future industry members and get as much as possible out of their time at the University of Alberta. Additionally, the Mining Club supports its students in their professional growth through one-on-one resume reviews, national and international competitions, as well as a dedicated industry committee to ensure students find valuable work experience and acquire the necessary tools to become skilled and competent mining engineers!
Ultimately, the Mining Engineering Student Society aims to foster life-long connections among students, support their academic success, and equip them with the resources needed to pursue a rewarding career. We also promise that you will have a lot of fun along the way and will be looking snazzy in our tasteful Mining Club merchandise.
