What the f*ck is CPI?

The Canadian Consumer Price Index (CPI) represents the change in prices in common household goods over a 12-month period. While not an exact measurement of inflation, it is an easy-to-understand measurement of the effects inflation has on the average person and organization.

Other indexes exist, including producer prices indexes (PPI) which represent the change in prices at which business sell their goods (products or services) to others.
