Steel Centre Bridge Team
About
The Steel Centre Bridge Team is an engineering team endorsed by the Steel Centre at the University of Alberta that is dedicated to competing yearly in the Canadian National Steel Bridge Competition (CNSBC). Each year, the CNSBC board releases a new set of rules and parameters to be followed for teams to complete their bridge design. Our objective is to develop a novel design that fosters creativity, innovation, and ingenuity within the parameters of the competition. The design is fabricated and put to the test against other Canadian (and some international) universities at the CNSBC held yearly at a different university in Canada. The Steel Centre Bridge Team envisions a future where traditional structural engineering boundaries are elevated through innovation, teamwork, and excellence while shaping the best structural engineers of tomorrow. Our mission is to engineer excellence through our student-built steel bridges by engaging in collaborative design, construction, and competitions that encompass our passion and innovation, while empowering students to acquire knowledge and skills that will position them excel as engineers.
