Resignation of ESS President
Dear Members of the University of Alberta Engineering Community,
On behalf of the Engineering Students’ Society and its governing Board of Directors, may this message serve as a public notice of recent events. As of March 13th, 2025, the President of the Engineering Students’ Society (ESS) has resigned from his position. This comes in response to recent discussions of the Board of Directors regarding alleged misconduct with respect to the ESS' Mission, Bylaws, and Policy by the President. For further information, please find attached his formal letter of resignation.
We ask that the public respect his privacy during this time and refrain from initiating unwanted communications with any involved parties.
Path Forward
At this time, the ESS Executive Committee is developing a plan of action to ensure that the mission and responsibilities of the society towards engineering undergraduate students continue to be maintained in light of the situation. Furthermore, the Executive Committee & Board of Directors shall be deciding on an Interim President to fill the role for the remainder of the current term of office. An update shall be provided to the public in the next few days once these decisions are finalized.
