Simon Corazza
(President Candidate)
Hello! My name is Simon Corazza, and I am a second-year Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering student at the University of Alberta. I am excited to be running for President of the Mechatronics and Robotics Discipline Club. My goal as President is to strengthen our community and make the Mechatronics experience more engaging, inclusive, and visible; both within the Faculty of Engineering and beyond.
Platform
My platform focuses on three key priorities:
Planning a wide variety of events — including technical workshops, industry panels, networking opportunities, and non-technical or wellness-focused activities, so students with all interests can find meaningful ways to get involved and connect with others.
Integrating incoming second-year students — by creating opportunities for mentorship, social connection, and early engagement, welcoming them into one of the most cohesive student communities on campus and helping them feel supported and confident as they transition into the program.
Increasing awareness of Mechatronics — by promoting our discipline across the Faculty of Engineering and to employers, showcasing our unique skillset and creating stronger connections that open up future opportunities for students.
I want to build a club that brings people together, supports its members, and represents Mechatronics with pride. I would be honored to have your support.
