Roblox Developers’ Conference

Between September 9th-10th, 2022, two 5th year students from the Computer Engineering Software Option program attended the annual Roblox Developer's Conference (RDC). The conference was held in San Francisco, California, and invites were exclusive only to established developers on the Roblox platform. Over the two days of the event, developers were able to listen to a keynote from David Baszucki (founder and CEO of Roblox), hear about exciting features coming to Roblox, and attend hands-on workshops focusing on a wide variety of topics. Also, on the evening of the second day, the annual Roblox Innovation Awards were presented (the equivalent of the Grammy Awards, but for Roblox games). Overall, the conference was very inspirational and motivating.

In addition to the main events, many Roblox employees set up booths where they could have Roblox developers test unreleased features in their games and discuss pain points regarding development on Roblox. The booths also provided fantastic networking opportunities with Roblox employees.
