Hello folks! My name is Ayan and I’m a 2nd year Mechanical Engineering student. I served as the Director of Professional Development (PD) over the last 1.5 years, working towards rebuilding PD opportunities for student. In my spare time, I pelt dodgeballs at people!

ACADEMICS GUIDANCE PROGRAM
Form a blueprint/map for the mentors to follow along throughout the year in the Academics Guidance Program.
Improve the Academics Guidance Program by making it more engaging by a mentor appreciation party at the end of the term.
TEXTBOOK EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Better advertisement and outreach for the textbook exchange program to reach out to more students.
GENERAL
Form a digital platform of surveys and forms for students to reach out to mentors and upper years to seek out advice for transition to university and discipline selection.
Host more academic and welfare surveys with rewards and gifts.
Professional Development
EVENTS
Work towards hosting new technology skill workshops such as Siemens.
Hosting an Engineering Industry Mixer alongside Co-op Office and Engineering Employment Centre (EEC).
GENERAL
Running back the successful events from last year with better frequency to provide more students with opportunities.
Focus on bringing more industrial skill-based opportunities and insightful professionals for our undergraduates.
Entrepreneurship and Innovation
ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION PROGRAM
Work towards improving student involvement in the ESS Entrepreneurship and Innovation program.
ICE INCUBATOR PARTNERSHIP
Working towards collaborating with the UofA ICE Incubator.
EVENTS
Collaborating with the Professional Development portfolio to bring in Industry specialists for Guest Speaker sessions.
Health and Wellness
WELLNESS NIGHTS
Improved organization of bi-weekly wellness nights with food and drinks at the end.
HEALTH AWARENESS
Providing health info pamphlets and increasing awareness about university health and wellness resources on a larger scale through virtual information sessions.
EVENTS
Midterm and final snacks handout : hand out snacks to destress before exams.
Pet therapy sessions
Working with the Faculty to facilitate Take-A-Break sessions.
