Alphy Aji

President Candidate

What previous experience do you have with running meetings, participating in board meetings, and leading a team, and/or why do you think you would be good for this role?

Three years ago, during high school, I started a student council called LiberTY to champion student interests. As head of the council, I chaired debates and organized a cleanliness and anti-drug campaign. I got the opportunity to boost my leadership and communication skills leading the council meetings involving over 145 students. Now LiberTY is a youth empowerment platform where students and young adults showcase their talents and gather to host tournaments and charity drives. Running this organization helped me boost my leadership skills and taught me how to manage a group while also listening to my fellow teammates’ ideas.

What are your goals for the FYEC this year if you are elected?

  1. Inclusive: making the FYEC more inclusive in way that the opinions of the students can be brought to the table.

  2. Accessible: making it easier for students to reach out to us so that they can convey their ideas, concerns and even complaints.

  3. Parties: organizing parties while being mindful of the academic workload to help first year to let of their stress and tensions; and to make more friends.

  4. Open ear: We will be there to hear you out.

  5. Fun Space: Setup a space to relax and have fun with board games, pool table and music
